What is NCERT?
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) came into existence to provide academic support and advance training courses to improve India's quality of school education. It functions by eight constituents:
- National Institute of Education (NIE), New Delhi
- Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), New Delhi
- Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), Bhopal
- Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs), Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, and Shillong.
Diploma Course in Guidance and Counseling
NCERT's Department of Educational Psychology and Foundations of Education serves the necessary training to teacher educators, untrained guidance personnel via diplomas, school administrators, and in-service school teachers. The course is available for distance learning as well as regular modes.

About the Program

Eligibility:
To be eligible for this program, one must fulfill any ONE of the following criteria:
- Graduate with a teaching degree;
- Graduate with a teaching degree, having at least two years of relevant experience;
- Postgraduate in Psychology/ Social Work/ Child Development / Special Education.
The minimum percentage required for admission is 50% (45% for SC/ST).
Note: Preferences are given to those having at least one year of teaching or related experience.
