National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), formerly known as (GFSU) Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, is the world’s first forensic science university in Gujarat. It was established in 2008 with three departments: the Institute of Behavioural Science (IBS), Institute of Forensic Science (IFS), and the Institute of Research and Development (IRD). 

 

It offers postgraduate courses which are run by each institution of the University. The Institute of Behavioural Science runs MSc in Neuropsychology course. Let’s know about the program in detail!

                                                                         

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

M.Sc. Neuropsychology is a program that focuses on the psychological functions of the brain. The program is about imparting knowledge of principles of Neuropsychological functioning of the human brain using Neuropsychological Tests & Batteries, Clinical and Research Findings, and Methods of Electrophysiological Experiments used for Assessing Neurocognitive Functions. 

 

The practical knowledge will help the students to have a proficiency in the general practice of psychology. It allows students to develop skills that will enable them to interpret research findings in Neuropsychology and incorporate them into practice.

 

Students will develop Skills like Thinking critically, Clarity when speaking, Writing and documentation, Problem-solving: assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of neural-based disorders, and clinical research.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

• To understand the basics of Psychology and Neuroscience and its scientific principles. 
• To acquire knowledge and understand its applications in the various areas of Neuropsychology.
• To gain analytical skills in the field of Neuropsychology.

 

 

ADMISSION PROCESS

ELIGIBILITY:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Science with a minimum of 

55% marks (50% for SC/ST Category).

ADMISSION CRITERIA:

Admission to this program is based on an Entrance Examination.

 

FEE STRUCTURE:

Rs. 30,000 (Tuition Fee) per Semester + Other University Fee

 

ENTRANCE EXAM FOR THE PROGRAM

The Application procedure starts in June. The merit list is generated as per the performance in the entrance examination. The exam includes 50 multiple choice questions (100 Marks). There is no negative marking. 

Topics- The entrance test is based on Basic Psychology, Research Methodology, Statistics, Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Grammar.

COLLEGE FACILITIES

One must complete a Ph.D. from an accredited institution, including internships, specialties in psychiatry, neuropathology, psychopathology, and psychological evaluation or education through a recognized program to be a certified/licensed neuropsychologist. 

An RCI recognized degree in Neuropsychology offers ample job opportunities, including working as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Forensic Neuropsychologist, Cognitive Neuropsychologist, Pediatric Neuropsychologist, Researcher, or Teaching as well!
