What is Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy?

About AUD
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi was established in 2007 by the Government of National Capital Territory (NCT), Delhi through an act of the Delhi legislature. As the official website states, it is a ‘multi-campus unitary university’ functioning from Kashmere Gate, Karampura, and Lodhi Road campus respectively.
There are 13 schools across the three campuses; MPhil in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is part of the School of Human Studies.

About the Programme
MPhil in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at AUD is the first and the only one of its kind in India and perhaps, in the entire South Asia. The course is taught within a “life historical lens” in that it takes into account the role of intergenerational trauma and the embeddedness within socio-cultural, historical, and economic settings and the effect these systemic structures have on individual mental health.

Admission Process
Eligibility:
To be eligible for this program, one must have a Masters with 55% in Psychology and allied disciplines.
Total Number of Seats: 20
Duration of Course: 3 years
Entrance Examination:
Notification on Application for entrance (batch 2021-23) for MPhil is not out as yet, it’s advisable to keep checking the official website regularly.
The entrance examination, however, carries a weightage of only 50 percent. Below is a table marking the criteria and weightage for being accepted to the MPhil Programme.
